Our Journey
MIT Computer Training Center began in 1999 as a small initiative to bring IT education to Bopitiya. At a time when ICT access was limited, we became one of the first pioneers to introduce structured computer education in the area.
In 2001, the institute was officially registered as a sole proprietorship business, marking the beginning of professional training.
In 2014, we were registered under TVEC, and in 2020, we achieved accreditation to conduct NVQ courses.
Today, MIT stands as a leading ICT training center in the region, empowering students with practical skills and real-world knowledge.

Don Sumudu S. Hettiarachchi
Don Sumudu S. Hettiarachchi is the founder and proprietor of MIT Computer Training Center, with over 20+ years of experience in ICT education and vocational training. He is a dedicated educator, IT professional, and mentor who has played a pivotal role in developing skilled students for both academic and industry success.
Since establishing the institute in 1999, he has been committed to delivering practical, hands-on, and career-oriented learning experiences, especially in rural communities such as Bopitiya, where he pioneered ICT education.
Don Sumudu S. Hettiarachchi is the founder and proprietor of MIT Computer Training Center, with over 20+ years of experience in ICT education and vocational training. He is a qualified NVQ Assessor, educator, and IT professional dedicated to developing skilled and industry-ready students.
